Wholesale Panty Shortlists: Compare Shape, Rise and Sheerness

A useful wholesale panty shortlist starts with the role each style should fill. Compare silhouette, stated rise and sheerness separately before choosing colors. These three catalog references provide different starting points, but their names do not establish measured coverage, equivalent sizing or customer preference.

Give each reference a distinct question

Use the full reference in your sample inquiry. Ask for supplier-confirmed front and back views of the actual version so that the name, photographs and proposed sample all refer to the same product.

Keep three comparison axes separate

Silhouette describes the style direction, such as thong or bikini. Rise describes where the garment is intended to sit, while sheerness describes a visual characteristic of the material or construction. A change on one axis does not automatically establish a change on the others.

RN-SP-442 is named low-rise and RN-SP-446 mid-rise. The RN-SP-445 title does not state a rise; leave that field unconfirmed until the supplier supplies the relevant information. Likewise, do not assign measured back coverage from the words thong or bikini alone.

Choose the evidence needed for each sample

For RN-SP-442, request views that make the cutout and the front and back outlines clear. For RN-SP-445, ask where the bow, lace and cutout appear on the proposed version. Neither product name establishes the dimensions or placement of every detail.

For RN-SP-446, clarify which areas are sheer and what lining is proposed. “French lace” is the catalog descriptor; it is not, by itself, evidence of French manufacturing origin. If origin is commercially important, request separate documentation rather than incorporating an assumption into your own product copy.

Build a shortlist around unresolved differences

Consider a hypothetical buyer seeking two distinct roles in a new range. Selecting a thong and a bikini only because their styling looks different leaves the actual assortment question open. Identify whether the intended distinction concerns the back outline, rise, decorative detail or transparency, then choose samples that let the team evaluate that difference.

The sheer mid-rise reference may add another direction, but that does not make it the better seller or the more comfortable option. Those conclusions require evidence beyond a catalog title. Do not assume that the same letter size fits identically across the references.

Send a focused sampling inquiry

Review the OEM and private-label information, then send your shortlisted references with the target market, intended range role, sizes to evaluate and unresolved questions for each style. Ask the supplier to confirm available specifications and proposed sample versions.

Record why each sample was selected and what would justify keeping it in the range. This creates a practical decision record without treating catalog descriptions as performance, fit or sales guarantees.
