Lingerie Tech-Pack Files: Check the Received Copy

A delivery notice is only the beginning

Before a supplier reviews your lingerie tech pack, confirm that the received package contains the intended files and that the relevant pages are readable. Separate three questions: was the file received, could it be opened, and does its visible content match the reference copy? None of these answers constitutes design approval.

The OEM and private-label page requests product requirements and references. It does not establish a universal accepted format, upload limit or editable-file workflow. Ask your contact how the package should be provided before exporting or transferring it. This checklist is a buyer-side preparation method, not a claim about a dedicated supplier portal.

Give each file a role

A package may contain a technical drawing, a measurement sheet, artwork and supporting photographs. Name the role of each item so the recipient can tell whether it is a reference view, an editable source, an approval record or a proposal still under discussion. Keep a read-only reference export where appropriate, but do not assume that sending a PDF replaces the source file requested by a specialist.

For a multi-piece style such as the black lace bra and garter set, identify which file covers the bra, belt or panty. A drawing of the entire set does not confirm that a separate component measurement sheet reached the recipient. Keep file identity connected to the style and revision.

Send a small manifest with the package

  • Package ID, revision, date and style reference
  • Exact filename and purpose
  • Expected page or worksheet count, with sheet names where relevant
  • Drawing or component references covered
  • Which file is current and which is supplied only for comparison
  • Recipient, transfer date and confirmation status
  • Missing or unreadable content and replacement reference

A filename alone is insufficient if two different versions share it. Use a distinguishable revision and preserve the previous transfer record. For spreadsheets, list the sheets intended for review rather than assuming that the first visible tab is the whole package. Do not include unrelated private information or hidden working material that the recipient does not need.

Check the recipient’s view, not just your export

Ask the recipient to confirm the intended pages and whether drawing callouts, measurement units and image details can be read. Look for missing linked images, cropped page edges, blank pages or substituted characters. A mobile preview may be useful for spotting a problem, but an unclear preview should prompt a check of the received file rather than an immediate conclusion that the source is defective.

If the delivery method is a link, ask whether the named recipient can open the specific file. An accessible folder does not prove that every item in the manifest is accessible. Agree an alternative delivery method if needed; do not solve a receipt problem by making confidential design files public.

Resolve an incomplete package with a traceable replacement

In a hypothetical example, a recipient opens the front and back drawings but cannot find the measurement page listed in the manifest. The opening check has passed; completeness has not. Identify the missing page, issue a corrected package with a new revision, and state which prior package it replaces. Request the same completeness and readability confirmation on the replacement.

If only the preview is cropped, first establish whether the downloaded file contains the complete page. Preserve the original report of the problem so it is clear why a replacement was or was not necessary. Avoid silently overwriting the link while the supplier is reviewing an older copy.

Move to technical review explicitly

Once receipt and readability are confirmed, list the technical decisions still pending: measurements, construction, materials, artwork or other project-specific points. “Files received” must not be recorded as approval to manufacture or agreement to commercial terms.

Send the manifest, style references, target quantity and open questions through the wholesale inquiry page. Ask which formats and supporting files are needed for the next review. Keep the package record alongside subsequent supplier comments so a reply can be traced to the exact files that were available.
