A lingerie demand forecast should show which quantities are planning estimates and which belong to an agreed order. Date the forecast, identify the product and state whether each scenario includes existing orders. Otherwise, the same units can be counted twice before anyone discusses the next purchase.
Give the forecast a precise product reference
The Wholesale Black Lace Bra and Garter Set, PDD-1008146020759, gives the discussion an identifiable starting point. Its listing describes a bra, high-waist garter belt and matching panty. Confirm the selling unit and selected variant for your project; a forecast in sets should not be mixed with a count of individual garments.
Add the relevant size, color and specification revision. A future custom version needs its own reference rather than silently inheriting the quantities of the catalog version.
Use one dated planning record
Keep the following fields together, with one row per variant and planning period:
- Forecast version, issue date, period covered and quantity unit.
- Lower, central and higher demand scenarios, where useful.
- Whether each scenario is a total requirement or additional demand beyond existing orders.
- Firm-order quantity, order reference and the agreed period it covers.
- Assumptions, unresolved questions and the next review date.
These scenarios are buyer estimates, not evidence of supplier stock or capacity. Leave an uncertain figure visibly pending instead of using a blank cell that another person might read as zero.
Check for double counting
Suppose a hypothetical central scenario is 120 sets, including 40 sets already ordered. The additional planning balance is 80 sets. If 120 instead means demand beyond that order, it is an additional requirement. Both readings are possible unless the sheet declares its basis. This example describes arithmetic, not an available order quantity or a recommended forecast.
Keep the order reference beside the 40 confirmed sets. Changing the forecast does not itself record a change to that order. Handle any requested order amendment separately through the agreed process.
Ask what the supplier can acknowledge
For an OEM or private-label discussion, ask how planning information will be used and which separate confirmation is needed for any next step. Do not assume that sending a forecast reserves materials, stock or production capacity.
Send the dated forecast for review with the SKU, variant, quantity basis and firm-order references. Ask the supplier to identify the current version received, any unresolved assumptions and any proposed commitment requiring separate agreement. Keep its response with the forecast, and clearly mark older versions as superseded planning copies.
