Revised Lingerie Quotes: Check What Changed Before Approval

A revised lingerie quote should be approved against its previous version and the current product brief. Record each changed line, its reason, the reference it affects and whether the buyer has accepted it. A newer date alone does not establish that every earlier requirement remains included.

This guide is for wholesale and private-label buyers who already have a quotation and need to reconcile a revision from the same supplier. For comparing different suppliers first, use our supplier quote comparison checklist.

Freeze the two documents you are comparing

Keep the earlier quote unchanged. Give the new copy its own version name and date, and record the product brief or approved sample reference behind it. If the supplier sends changes in a message, ask for a consolidated revision rather than letting a chat note silently replace one line in a spreadsheet. Use the same currency, quantity basis and selling unit when checking the two versions.

Start with the product, not the total

The black lace bra and garter set is described on our product page as a coordinated bra, garter belt and panty. In your quote check, identify the exact product reference and confirm which pieces the quoted selling unit includes. A lower total with a changed set composition is a scope change, even when the product name stays the same.

For the chain strap lingerie harness set, identify the agreed colorway, straps and hardware reference. The catalog description is a starting point; it does not replace the specification confirmed for your order. Do not infer material percentages or hardware finishes from the photographs.

Use a four-column change sheet

  • Reference: quote version, SKU and line number.
  • Before and after: copy the exact scope or term from both versions.
  • Reason and consequence: note the supplier’s explanation and any related sample, artwork or packing decision that needs review.
  • Status: accepted, clarification requested or not yet reviewed, with an owner and date.

Keep unchanged lines in the comparison too. An omitted line is not automatically unchanged or free of charge. Mark it as unresolved until the supplier states whether it has moved, been removed or been included elsewhere.

Separate a price revision from a requirement revision

Check quantities by size and color, unit of sale, labels, packaging, sample work, exclusions and delivery basis. If one assumption changes, trace its effects through the rest of the quote. A different packing method may require a new artwork review; a material substitution may require another sample decision. These are questions to resolve, not automatic claims that costs or dates will change.

Illustrative review note: “Version B mentions the garment set but no longer lists the branded hangtag. Please confirm whether the hangtag and application remain included.” This is an example of a clarification, not a quotation or a customer case.

Close the revision with one clear approval record

Ask the supplier to identify the version that supersedes earlier copies and to answer the remaining open points in writing. Save the final quote with the matching specification and buyer approval. Do not treat a sample approval as acceptance of new commercial terms. For a private-label or OEM project, keep artwork and sample references with the same revision record.

Buyer FAQ

Should a revised quote restart the entire review?

Review every changed or missing item and check the unchanged baseline for consistency. You do not need to reinvent the brief, but a revised total alone is insufficient evidence of equivalent scope.

What if only a screenshot is supplied?

Retain it as correspondence and request the complete, legible quote with its version and scope. Do not approve a cropped total that hides exclusions.

What should I send to request clarification?

Send both version references, the product link, the affected lines and your unresolved questions through our wholesale inquiry page. Request confirmation for your specific order; this checklist does not create new pricing or delivery commitments.
